About me

My story

Born in Orange, France, on the 24th of April, 1998, I grew up mostly in the south of France. I started practicing sports and artistic activities from a very young age : horse riding, to music, to dancing…I developed a passion for arts. With my first camera, I taped my sisters, and made short films that I burned on DVD to give to my mom, for her birthdays. For my middle school diploma, I put together a “history of Arts” project around making a film. Paper cutting, time-lapses, slow motion, photos…I started to like visual art.

In 10th grade, I entered my first local short film festival competition, GardMotion, around the theme “I, president…”. My short film “Bref, moi, président, jamais” (“Anyway, I president, never”) won the first prize of the 11-15 yo category. I realized at that moment that I wanted to make a living out of this passion that I had. I also discovered stop motion animation in 11th grade, and made Peppy Rose my first stop motion animation short film.

I got my french secondary high school diploma in an international English class, with a physics major and a cinema option, with highest honors. I then went to a two years undergraduate program to prepare nationwide competitive exam in literature, with cinema option, in Cannes. During those two years, I rediscovered literature, english, history, cinema theory, and I learned a lot and forged myself a big cultural bagage. I learned proper writing, rigor and consistency, but I was mostly watching films and reading a lot. I had the opportunity to be a part of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival : I was a junior jury for the Cannes Classics commission in 2017.

With a view to go to a film school, I still had to take the ENS Lyon exams, that I got with honors. I tried several film schools around France and Belgium, and I got in ENSAV in Toulouse in 2018.

I could finally practice : my first year there made me learn about film shooting in itself, a real set, pre and post-production. I was taught to use the tools, cameras, microphones, but also production design, and the use of editing softwares such as AVID Media Composer, ProTools, Da Vinci, or Adobe suite. Projects are written alongside with other students, with themes and constrains.

During my second year, I directed my first short film alone, Ghost Choir, and I was preparing a big project in stop motion animation for the end of my first year of master when in March 2020, Covid-19 stopped my studies. I decided to carry out my animation alone, with all this free time ahead of me. Fergus, Bartok & Polly took 7 months to be made, because of the time-consuming process of stop motion animation. Writing script, making puppets and sets, animating : I really enjoyed making this film. 8000 pictures later, Fergus, Bartok & Polly is screened at my school in October 2020. The film is semi-finalist in the Nukhu selection online, and is also representing ENSAV at the 2021 CILECT PRIZE, selected at the Lift Off First Time Filmmaker, selected at the Sequence Court Métrage Festival and was screened at the ABC Cinema in Toulouse.

My third year, still affected by Covid, is a way for me to work with actors in two other short films that I directed, Nettles Queen, in partnership with actors from the Conservatoire of Toulouse, and Matthieu & Mathilde, in partnership with AtelierCité, from the Théâtre de la Cité of Toulouse, but also to edit a rap music video from the talented Malaya. In August 2021, I’m flying to New York city, for a semester abroad, and I studied at the School of Visual Arts. I took sculpture classes, drawing classes, editing, writing and directing classes, and I discovered the American way of making films. I got back on March 2022, ready for the next adventure in the professional world.

In July 2022, I started working on the set of the third season of the series Emily in Paris. As a Unit Production Assistant, I’m starting with an episode shot in the south of France, near where I’m from. I end up following the team along the journey in Paris, until the end of shooting in September 2022. This team lead me to other opportunities such as the last Woody Allen’s film Coup de Chance, released in September 2023. I keep going with Good Grief, a Dan Levy’s film shot in Paris, and this time as a Production Assistant on Set. In May 2023, I work on the pre-production of an Amazon series, Etoile, still as a Production Assistant on Set. The strikes in the US force the production to stop for a while. I also worked on various other projects such as commercials

. J’ai aussi eu l’occasion de travailler, de manière entrecoupée, sur des projets tels que des pubs, ou en renfort sur des longs ou séries.

What's next ?

My goals for the next chapter would be to get an internship or a first entry level job on a film set, for features or short films, animated or not.

I’m bending towards english speaking countries, in North America, USA or Canada, or the UK, but I’m obviously open to work in France. I’ve always been interested in American and British culture, throughout trips to Montreal, Toronto, London, New York, or even Chicago and Los Angeles, that confirmed my desire to live there, temporarily or not.
